Particulate matter often consists of solid particles, fine liquid droplets, or condensed liquids adsorbed onto
solid particles. Airborne particulate pollution is not made up of a single pollutant as discussed for the other criteria pollutants,
but rather a mixture of many different air pollutants. The Georgia Ambient Air Monitoring Program currently monitors
for three sizes of particle matter: PM10 (up to 10 microns in diameter), PM2.5 (up to 2.5 microns in diameter)
and PM coarse (PM10 minus PM2.5).
